Message: February 2004
Hello Interliners,
Wednesday February 18th, 2004 we got together at Kahunaville restaurant at the
International Plaza. After the President
Poppy Shiakalli Bowen welcomed everyone and the introductions were made
there was a discussion on the objectives of the club and how to participate at
the WACA events. The President stated that Continental and Northwest have
contacted her for
membership. Vice-President Kiki Williamson gave an update on the constitution
and by-laws. It was agreed that there should be 5 persons in the committee and
to have an election every two years, as per Audrey Lawler’s suggestion. The
constitution and by laws are in the final stages and will be ready next month.
This will enable us to send them to Headquarters together with the fee for membership
with WACA. Our Treasurer Bill Moore
could not be present due to family reasons and the President was going to get
in touch with him and get together next week. Webmaster Roy Bowen explained
about the website and the cost and it was agreed to pay $5 monthly. Paul Walgren suggested to
put a link on the web for people to get their own websites. Kiki said that she talked to the Director of
Tourism in Sarasota who was very impressed with the website. The President
announced a 20% discount offer to all members and their families by Kim from
TEC Salon & Spa on Memorial Highway (behind Dunkin donuts). Call
813 890 8300 and ask for Kim stating you are with the Interline Club of Florida.
All agreed to look into other places to get offers for the members of the club
and their families. Paul Walgren/TWA and
Audrey Lawler/AA are our newest members who we warmly welcome.
The next meeting is March 10
at the Kahunaville restaurant at the International Plaza at 6:00PM.
Be sure to check the Events
for Details.
Yours in
Interlining.
