MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello
Hope you are all keeping well and that you are all in good health.
Our hearts go out to the victims of Rita. We are thankful that so far no lives have been lost. We pray that our Texas Interliners are all keeping well.
We are sad and very disappointed that our Past RVP Ellie Masters was not voted member of honor. She has been very instrumental in forming Florida IC and New York IC. Never mind all her volunteering help and coming earlier when we had our Regional meeting to help us out. I have served as VP/PR on the WACA EC for 4 years and I know what sacrifices and out of the pocket expenses and hard work goes with the position. WACA EC just gave us a message that they ignore the North America Region which are 18 clubs plus other clubs that supported Ellie.
Now for your International updates so you can choose where you want to go. Calgary IC, is hosting February 4 - 10 the Winter Wonderland at Chateau Lake Louise, Alberta. The cost for Skiers is USD 870 and non-skiers USD 690. Children are most welcome and prices vary according to their age. The deadline is November 15, 2005. Our VP/Special Projects and International events John Aarons is hosting on behalf of WACA the Mexico Cruise March 20 - 24, for USD 429.36 per person. The deadline is November 15, 2005. Zurich IAC, is hosting March 26 to April 1 Snow, Sun and Fun. Cost is CHF 780 and the deadline is December 1, 2005.
The Columbia night out was a success see for yourselves, there are a few photos taken by our VP Kiki Williamson.
If you would like to volunteer for the committee please email us or call, the more the merrier.
Any information you might need feel free to contact Kiki, Shirley or myself.
Yours in Interlining,
Poppy Shiakalli Bowen Phone 813 841 9434 Fax 813 960 1335 Website www.flaic.net |
WACA UPDATE The 38th AGA in Agra, India came to a close. It all began with an overnight stay in Delhi and then the 240 interliners from 31 Member Clubs were transported by bus to Agra for the duration of the package. Special Projects and International Events, John Aarons, was overwhelmed with the amazing response by interliners to bring bed linen and towels to India. A mini bus with approximately 20 interliners accompanied John to an orphanage run by the Mother Teresa organization. The ages of the children in the orphanage ranged from just a few weeks old to adolescents and all who made the journey were moved to tears by the experience. WACA Raffle A package for one to the 28th Christmas Gala Ball being hosted by the Rhein-Main I.C. from 2-4 December, was drawn at the AGA. The lucky winner with ticket number 05139 is Britt Akerman.
