MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello
Hope you are all keeping well and that you are all in good health and that you sustained no damages from hurricane Wilma.
Roy and I would like to thank you for you good wishes for my health. We have won another battle thanks to your prayers, please keep them going. We are coming home November 17th and we cannot wait to see you all.
Cyprus IC President Stella Savvidou and her EC, have appointed me Honorary President of the Cyprus Interline Club. Around 45 interliners and friends got together at the Bonzai Japanese restaurant at the Holiday Inn to honor me. It was a very touching moment for everyone as the last time we were there, May 2000, was my farewell party to my new life with Roy. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
We have updates for you in the newsletter for the international events. We want to help you plan your holidays.
We also have updates for our local events. Please do let us know if you want to do something different so we can plan it. Better yet why don't you plan it and tell us when and where so we can advise all our members and be there.
If you would like to volunteer for the committee please email us or call, the more the merrier. Any assistance you might need feel free to contact Kiki, Shirley and myself.
Yours in Interlining,
Poppy Shiakalli Bowen Phone 813 841 9434 Fax 813 960 1335 Web site www.flaic.net

WACA UPDATE 39th ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY (AGA) hderew Registrations - Preparations are already at an advanced stage for the 39th AGA to be held in Shanghai from 1- 6 October 2006. Secretary General, Julian Chau, reports that 61 people have already registered/reserved for the AGA and, when the Hong Kong Interline Club Association organizing team and the WACA Executive Committee members are taken into consideration, the total number is 84 with almost one year to go! Post - AGA Tour - Julian also advises that 63 places for the post - AGA tour "A Journey through the Magical Mountains of Sichuan" from 6-14 October have already been taken. This leaves only 17 more places to fill as the maximum number of participants is 80. Many of the early registrations have come from interliners that have already been on the Discovery China Tour for one, two or even three years in a row. WACA Grand Venture Bonanza - The "WACA Grand Venture Bonanza" is the new name". John Aarons, says it was decided to charge USD 1.00 for each Bonanza ticket. Cash prizes will remain the same as the current Grand Venture draws (USD 150.00 and USD 100.00 twice per year) with the added bonus of the raffle prizes (usually two or three free packages to WACA events). Dates of the Bonanza draws in 2006 will depend on the dates of the packages Member Clubs offer as prizes. Any Member Club wishing to donate a prize should contact John at kitpar@netspace.net.au as soon as possible. He will also be happy to answer any questions about this new WACA fund raising initiative. WACA Cruise - John would also like any interliners interested for the Baja Mexico Cruise to contact him at the above e-mail address. The cruise departs March 20. Do not forget the deposit of USD200 is required by 15 November. Winter Wonderland - Calgary IC is looking forward to welcome you with their Winter Wonderland Ski package 4-10 February, 2006. Details are posted on the WACA web site or email yycicski@hotmail.com for any questions. Keith Miller / Manager WACA Headquarters |
