MAY 2005

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello Interliners ,

I hope that May is boosting your spirits. Flowers of all colors we see everywhere and we smell the roses and gardenias. It is so invigorating.

Our Regional Meeting went well. We had 16 participants who came from Alaska, Canada and the US. Shirley, Kiki, Roy and I have been busy with our group from Friday the 29th till the 1st of May,2005. The meeting went well and we ended their stay with a night at Stumps restaurant on Channelside, then an hour to the Howl on the moon. Janet Karlyle won the 50/50 raffle of $60. Way to go Janet. Our member, Doreen Agliano Patterson gave a guided tour to historic Ybor city on the trolley.  She showed us her father's fish place which has been in the family for generations.

Let me update you with the International events.  Mauritius IC is hosting  Dodo's Nest, June 13 - 18. The club has prepared a nice package with catamaran tours, treasure hunts, beach Olympic sports and more. Air Mauritius will offer to all participants   ID00N2 passes.

Just to remind you about our Annual meeting in Agra India.  If you want to participate you would better hurry as you need to get your shots 3 months before you travel. There is a Pre-AGA tour to Kashmir and a Post AGA tour to Nepal.

As you all know our next gathering is May 18th  at Storman's. Storman's is the IN place to meet others and the parrot heads.  We would like to drive in groups so please RSVP by the 16th of May. Jimmy's Buffet is FREE from 6 -8 PM. The dress code is casual. If you have a place you would like us to go please let us know,

Yours in Interlining,

North American Meeting Update

What a wonderful weekend was spent by interliners from the North American Region.  The Florida IC hosted this event.  This club led by Poppy Bowen [formerly from Cyprus IC) ]their president and her mighty crew left no stone unturned to look after our needs and provided a fun filled weekend.  A special and heartfelt thank you to Poppy, Roy, Kiki, Shirley, Doreen, Don, Earl, and other members. They ordered sunshine and warm weather and we sure did enjoy the hospitality and the pool. The weekend started with a warm reception in the hospitality suite.  The Club provided wonderful food and any drink of your choice.  The highlight of the evening was meeting the club members and all the interliners from various clubs.  The hotel served a delicious breakfast and lunch.  Twelve clubs were present for the N.A. Regional meeting.  This was chaired by our new R.V.P. Elaine Miller from Calgary.  Delegates and observers joined in the discussions that ultimately resulted in a very productive session.  Our evening consisted of dinner at Stumps and entertainment at the Howl at the Moon.  This was a jumping jam improvisation with dual piano  players, singers, and a groovy band.  Couldn't keep your feet from wanting to get up and dance.  On to Ybor City where it was all happening.  This was similar to Bourbon Street in New Orleans.  Hated going back to the hotel but the clock was ticking and flights were waiting for the next morning.  For those who didn't make it you missed a memorable event with our newest and hep club.

Thank you very much Florida Club.  Ellie Masters. Assist. RVP/NA
