WACA UPDATE

Date Change for the 39th AGA

The organizing committee of Formula 1 recently announced that the Shanghai Grand Prix will be held over the weekend of 7/8 October 2006. This means that the AGA hotel will be charging full rack rates from 5 October so a decision has been made by the WACA Executive Committee to start the AGA one day earlier. The new dates for the 39th AGA to be held in Shanghai, China, will, therefore, be from 30 September to 5 October 2006. Secretary General, Julian Chau, says that the content of the AGA remains unchanged and he will be revising the program schedule and have it posted on WACA's Web site as soon as possible. He also advises that traveling on standby to Shanghai will not be affected by the Grand Prix as spectators will not be arriving until the AGA is over and interliners will be departing before the Grand Prix has taken place.

Pre-AGA Tour  The river cruise from Chungking to Wuhan will proceed as planned and the departure date determined once everything has been finalized for the AGA. Similarly, exact departure dates for the pre-AGA China Capitals tour being organized by the Airline Club of Thailand will be advised in due course.

Post-AGA Tour Also, due to the AGA date change, the post-AGA tour "A Journey through the Magical Mountains of Sichuan" will now be from 5-13 October. As reported previously, the tour is full and 25 interliners are on "standby".

Registrations Julian also reports that there are now 170 interliners registered for the AGA.
